If you’re not already aware, Archives New Zealand has been redeveloping our websites, including the Records Toolkit, to improve our online information. The new website will go live on 10 June 2019 to line up with International Archives Day.
The new website ̶ which will be at Archives.govt.nz ̶ will have a new focus on:
- making information easily accessible
- rationalising 6 websites down to 1 while aligning content with customer needs
- improving content so that people can find what they need.
The content from the Records Toolkit will be available in a dedicated section of the new site. After we launch and the content from the various websites has been added, the old sites will be closed down. We’ll keep you informed about the timing of the closures.
We think you’ll like the new website. It’s built so that you can use it on any device from smartphone to desktop. It also meets NZ Web Standards for accessibility and usability so everyone can use it. And some of the navigation (like buttons and links) will be in te reo Māori, which we’ll gradually increase as more content is added.
After June, more work will be done to add new features and more content. If you have any questions, please email firstname.lastname@example.org and we’ll get back to you.
