Archives New Zealand’s guidance on information and records management

Public offices subject to the Public Records Act 2005

The key legislation for information and records management for the New Zealand public sector is the Public Records Act 2005(the Act). The Act is administered by Archives New Zealand (Archives) which is part of the Department of Internal Affairs. 

Archives maintains a List of public offices subject to the Act which we update quarterly if there are any changes. If you have any questions about the List please contact rkadvice@dia.govt.nz
